Top Songs of 2010 Pt. 3

Well my lovely readers, today's post will feature my remaining favorite songs of the year. This post will focus on songs by artists who have been around a little while, but still manage to put out amazing hits!

Love the Way You Lie by Eminem ft. Rhianna

When I first heard this song I was just thinking "eh that's ok". The more I heard it the more I loved it! Living in Michigan, you hear Eminem a lot so that means I love it A LOT!!!! Eminem's angsty, angry voice paired with Rhianna's nice, sweet vocals sound great together. These two need to collaborate again in the near future for sure! Many people were complaining about the video and the song saying that it promotes domestic violence, but I am pretty sure some people will find anything and everything Eminem does offensive. Be sure to check out Love The Way You Lie pt. 2 by Rhianna featuring Eminem too!!

Not Afraid by Eminem

Honestly I downloaded this song onto my Ipod when I heard it because I love me some Eminem, but didn't listen to it too often. Shortly after I saw him perform it on the MTV VMA's and realized how good of a song it really was. My favorite lyric: "And I just can't keep living this way. So starting today, I'm breaking out of this cage. I'm standing up, Imma face my demons. I'm manning up Imma hold my ground. I've had enough, now I'm so fed up. Time to put my life back together right now".

Times Like These by Kid Rock

Like I mentioned previously, I'm from Michigan. Therefore, I love celebs that are from Michigan and aren't afraid to admit it. Like Eminem, Kid Rock is loyal to his hometown. This song is definitely Michigan's current anthem. When I saw the above performance on the AMA's I had to rewind it a couple of times just to look at all the pictures in the background again and actually listen to the words. Great song! Especially for fellow Michiganders! If you watch the video, you will see a picture that says "God, Help us Save Flint". Let me tell you, being that I work in Flint it definitely needs saving by someone! Amazing song!!!

Back to December by Taylor Swift

I will be honest. I love Taylor Swift music. I am aware it all kind of sounds the same, but I love it anyways. Rumor has it this song is about her breakup with Taylor Lautner. I was actually upset to hear they broke up since they were so cute together. Listening to the lyics of this song, it seems as if she is the one that ended it. All I can say is "Are you fricking crazy girl?!?!" Have you seen that boys abs?!?! Oh yea, I am also glad he is actually 18 now so I don't feel like a perv for finding him attractive :)

Temporary Home by Carrie Underwood

Loved her on American Idol, and still love her all these years later. This girl puts out hit after hit and doesn't stop. This song is a little sad, and the video makes it even sadder. Perfect little country song :).

Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z ft. Alicia Keys

Well I love me some New York City and this is the pefect little anthem for it. Of course Frank Sinatra also had a great anthem, but I guess all these years later it was time for another one. Jay-Z did a great job with this one. I want to go back to New York every time I hear this song. (I know this song is technically from 2009, but I really don't care :) ).

Young Forever by Jay-Z

Am I wrong or didn't Jay-Z retire a couple years ago? I love how musicians and athletes call it "retiring" when they want a break for a year or two. Well that little break seems to have helped Jay-Z since he put out hit after hit in the past year or so. Not that he wasn't putting out hits before then, but the two songs I've posted are on my top favorites list of his for sure! He really seems to like using black and white in his videos doesn't he? Love this song because really, who doesn't want to be forever young? The older I get, the more I miss the days when I was younger. "May the best of your todays be the worst of your tomorrows". LOVE IT!!

Once again, 2010 was a great year for music, in my opinion. The newbies and the vets both had an amzing year! My wish for music in 2011...Justin Timberlake release another album. I know you're all into the acting now JT, but seriously you know how to make a hit too!

What were some of your favorite songs of the year???

Top Songs of 2010 Pt. 2

I hope you all enjoyed part one of my favorite songs of 2010. This post focuses on songs by artists who broke through in 2010. Some may have been around previously, but they didn't come through as much as they did this year. Enjoy!!

Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars
Well hello Bruno Mars! You sure made your mark on 2010. Not only did Bruno have two hit songs of his own, he also lent his nice voice to "Billionaire" and "Nothin on You", and co-wrote Cee Lo Green's "F*ck You" from my previous post. This song has to be on the top 10 list for most overplayed this year, but I still LOVE it every time I hear it. The music video is pretty cute too! Never actually seen it before I posted it here :)

Grenade by Bruno Mars
Seriously, Bruno Mars really put himself on the map in 2010. Following up his smash hit (featured above), he released his second AMAZING single. Kudos to your amazing year Bruno Mars (minus that little arrest of yours). Hope to hear much more from you in 2011!!!

Billionaire by Travie McCoy
I really like this song. Seriously who doesn't wanna be a billionaire so freaking bad?!? Entry # 3 that features Bruno Mars by the way. Travie McCoy is pretty good too though ( who by the way was in Gym Class Heroes for those who didn't know).

All Roads Lead Home by Golden State
Well apparently this song is actually from 2008, but since I just discovered it this year I am including it in this list. Seriously, seriously LOVE IT!!!!

Airplanes by B.O.B featuring Haley Williams

Another one of my favorite songs this year!! Also love the remix that features Eminem. B.O.B also had a pretty good year. He had a hit with, who else, Bruno Mars with "Nothin On You" and also "Magic". Hope to hear more from you in 2011 also B.O.B.!!!

Need You Now by Lady Antebellum

Well this little country group sure did blow up this year didn't they. This song was played on every station this summer. Top 40, country, adult contemporary, etc. They also walked away with many awards this year, mainly for this song. Love this one along with their previous one "I Run To You" and their new one "Hello World". I also love the fact that both the males and female sing leads in this group. I will be waiting for more from them also!

If I Die Young by The Band Perry

I actually first heard this song on one of the lovely blogs that I follow and fell in love with it. Kind of a sad little tune, but still pretty great. My favorite lyric "A penny for my thoughts, oh no I'll sell em for a dollar. They're worth so much more after I'm a goner. And maybe then you'll hear the words I've been singing. Funny when you're dead, how people start listening."

There you have it. My favorite songs from 2010's Breakout Artists. I am aware that little Justin Bieber was also huge, but I would have to give the award for Breakout Artist of the year to Bruno Mars!!! What were some of your favorite songs from new artists this year??

Stay tuned to the next installment, my favorite songs from veteran artists!!

YouTube Tuesday!!

I saw this on someones facebook and just had to share it. Gotta love the innocence of children. No filter between their brain and mouth lol. However, don't you wish you could act like this when you opened something you didn't really like! Enjoy!!

Top Songs of 2010 Pt.1

Can you believe this is my second post in the last three days? I can't either!! This post will focus on SOME of my favorite songs from 2010. There will be more than one part to this as I liked many songs this year. Great year for music in my opinion. Today's post will feature the songs that are just oh so catchy I can't help but sing along everytime I hear them, whether they are overplayed or not!

OMG by Usher

When I first heard this song I wasn't a fan. Then the more I heard it I loved it. A few weeks later I was sick of it again, and now I love it again. It was overplayed for sure, but this song put Usher back on the map this year, with a little help from will.i.am. Oh and the fact that he titled it OMG just makes me laugh!

Cooler Than Me by Mike Posner

New artist Mike Posner had a hit with this single. Once again, overplayed, but hard to not start singing along when I hear it!

F*ck You by CeeLo Green

I featured this song as one of my "Weekly Song Wednesday" picks. Never heard anything by CeeLo before, but I LOVE his voice. Oh yea and I learned that he used to be in Gnarls Barkley. Guess I had heard him before after all. Not a radio friendly song, so they had to change the radio version to "Forget You", but still great! Looking forward to hearing more from him! I wanted to post the original version, but didn't want to offend anyone, so be sure to check it out on YouTube!!

Raise Your Glass by Pink

Haven't heard too many songs that I love by Pink lately until this song came along. Great beat, great lyrics, and a perfect song for these times with all of the bullying in schools lately. Also love that she says "Whats the dealio" because my friends and I totally used to say that all the time back in high school! Thanks for giving me a reason to raise my glass Pink!

Firework by Katy Perry

Just like "Raise Your Glass" this song also has a great message for teens, perfect for these times. Love it! Oh and the fact that it is featured in the "Just Dance 2" game commercial makes me soo want to buy that game, because it looks so darn fun!

Hey, Soul Sister by Train

This is probably the song that I am most sick of, yet can't NOT sing it when I hear it. NIce comeback by you also this year Train! Apparently this song is from 2009, but I honestly don't remember hearing it until this year therefore, it counts :).

That concludes part one. I don't actually know how many parts there will be, but stay tuned!! Oh and I LOVE comments so feel free to leave me one telling me what you think of my picks! Also feel free to leave suggestions for the next part :)

Top Reality TV Moments of 2010

It's that time of year folks. The end of the year is approaching faster than I imagined and that means time for a recap of 2010 in various areas. For the next few entries, I will be posting my favorites of 2010 in numerous categories. This entry will focus on "Reality TV Moments". Now we all know there are a bazillion reality TV shows out there these days and of course nobody can watch them all. Therefore this list just features MY favorite moments for the reality shows I actually do watch. So, in no particular order, here we go:

Lee Dewyze Wins American Idol
Well lets face it folks, this season of Idol was not the best by any means. Simon judged his last season, Ellen became the funny, yet very questionable, new judge, and the talent wasn't very talented. However, Lee Dewyze was one of my favs from the beginning and his reaction when waiting for Ryan to announce the winner and then when he found out he won was just great. You could tell he didn't think he would win at all and the fact that he looked like he was going to throw up on the stage and then pass out was just priceless. It is very sad that he has had no promotion whatsoever for his album and I have yet to even hear his single on the radio. I honestly don't hold out much hope for this season of Idol, but I guess we will see!

Phil Harris dies on Deadliest Catch

If you are a reader of my blog, than you know about my recent addiction to Deadliest Catch. In my opinion, one of the best reality shows around and this season was also one of the saddest. Fan favorite Captain Phil Harris suffered a massive stroke during this season's fishing season and later died. Apparently Phil requested that they continue filming while in the hospital and thus, we all go to see the heartbreaking reactions of his sons and fellow captains when he died. Hands down, the saddest moment of reality TV I have ever seen.

Ali chooses Roberto on The Bachelorette

I recently began watching "The Bachelor/ Bachelorette" series and have to admit it is one of my guilty pleasures. On this season's Bachelorette, Ali was the lucky girl to get to choose her Prince Charming. I did have a problem with her being the Bachelorette since she CHOSE to leave the show when she was on Jake's season of the Bachelor, but it could have been much worse so I learned to live with it :). After numerous rose ceremonies elimination some crazy, some cute guys, Ali finally chose adorable Roberto. I absolutely loved him from the beginning and had a very strong feeling that she would end up picking him in the end. I was very happy to learn I was right. Oh, on a side note, all the clips of the actual proposal were copyrighted, which is why I had to insert the above clip instead. We did get to see how sickeningly cute they are together though.

Jackie Evancho Amazes on America's Got Talent

Jackie was featured on the YouTube episode of AGT and basically stole the show from there. The 10 year old had both the looks and the voice of an angel. While opera is not my favorite genre of music, this little girl has an amazing voice and talent. I was actually happy that Michael Grimm won the show, but she has a future ahead of her for sure!

Some of my other top moments of 2010 from reality tv include:
Jake picking and then a few months later breaking up with Vienna (I never could stand that girl!)
The finale episodes of both the spring and fall seasons of "Biggest Loser". I am always amazed at how great everyone looks!
Kate Gosselin FINALLY (although way too late) getting voted off of "Dancing with the Stars".

Sorry for the lack of videos for the above moments, but YouTube didn't have any :(

What were some of your favorite moments from Reality TV 2010??

Weekly Song Wednesday!!

Weekly Song Wednesday has returned!!! For this week at least :). After watching the addictive "Deadliest Catch" marathon that Discovery channel so nicely put on this past weekend, I was reminded of such a great song! I had never heard this song or even heard of this band before "Deadliest Catch", but I LOVE it now!! The song is called "All Roads Lead Home" and its by the band Golden State. Give it a listen and let me know what you think!!

YouTube Tuesday!!

I found this video on Facebook today. If I had seen this last week it would have totally been the YouTube Tuesday pick, but it is still awesome so that is why I am posting it now. Whoever owns this house is seriously AWESOME. They may have a lot of time on their hands, but still pretty amazing!!! After checking it out on YouTube, I found a few other songs that they choreographed the lights too also. Seriously love it! I can't wait to see what they do for Christmas!

Seriously!?! Saturdays!

Well folks I'm introducing a new feature called "Seriously!?! Saturdays". This will replace the normal "Sick of Them Saturdays" occasionally, but will be along the same lines. With "Sick of them Saturdays" I was mostly blogging about the people or news subjects that I was tired of hearing about that week. Seriously Saturdays will be more about the events that happen in the week that made me say "SERIOUSLY!?!". Hope you all enjoy it! Be sure to let me know what you think!!

1. Charlie Sheen
Charlie Sheen Pictures, Images and Photos
Seriously Charlie Sheen! You are in trouble AGAIN?! This week you decide to trash a New York City hotel room while naked after getting drunk and high on cocaine while a porn star fears for her life while locking herself in the hotel bathroom. After the police were called he apparently was given the option to go to jail or to the hospital. He chose the hospital (go figure). Seriously NYPD, people are given options on where they want to go after behaving badly? Is this a new thing you're trying? I am sure the doctors and nurses will love it if it is. However I am almost positive it's not unless you are an A list celebrity. Sheen apparently told the police that he had been drinking and doing drugs before his "meltdown" but apparently his publicist had a different view and said that he had "an adverse allergic reaction to medication". Ummm I'm not quite sure for what illness they prescribe cocaine as the "medication" of choice, but I am pretty sure there aren't any. I am also pretty sure those aren't "adverse" reactions to cocaine, but I haven't tried it so I can't swear by it. Although if he is allergic to it, he might not want to do it anymore. Seriously publicist?! Oh and "Two and a Half Men" is a pretty good show and is getting great ratings for CBS, but if one of the stars is getting arrested or hospitalized at least once a season, shouldn't there be some repercussions? Seriously?! Last Christmas he was arrested for domestic violence and now he is hospitalized for using cocaine and behaving horribly and nothing happens? No suspension from work even? Seriously?! You have some very understanding bosses there Mr. Sheen. Seriously!!

2. Lindsay Lohan
lindsay lohan Pictures, Images and Photos
Seriously Lindsay Lohan?! You are in the news AGAIN!! Last Friday, Lindsay was ordered by the judge to spend time in rehab until January 3 instead of 6 months in jail like the DA wanted for violating probation. Apparently Lindsay has to go back to court on Feb. 25 and comply with random drug testing and if she violates her probation again she will be going to jail for the mandatory 180 days. Seriously?! I am pretty sure 180 days in the celeb world converts to about 14 days reality. Turns out Lindsay is apparently going broke paying for her rehab. Seriously Lindsay?! Aren't you some sort of big celebrity? You can't afford the $50,000 rehab bill? Seriously?! I mean yea that is the yearly salary of an average Joe, but I am pretty sure you have boots that cost more than that. Seriously! Well it turns out PETA heard about Lindsay's money troubles and agreed to pay up to $20,000 of her rehab bill if she agrees to go vegan for at least a year. If she gives up animal products while in rehab, she would get $10,000 at that time and if she stays vegan until January of 2012, they will give her the other $10,000. I don't think this will happen. She doesn't seem to be able to stay away from the booze and drugs to keep her out of jail so I don't think she will be able to give up the meat and milk either. Allegedly, there is an adult sex site that is also offering her $50,000 for her ummm, "services"? So looks like Ms. Lohan now has some options on how to pay for her rehab time since she is apparently broke now.

So there ya have it folks. The people that just make me literally say to myself "SERIOUSLY" for the week. What events had you baffled this week??

Weekly Song Wednesday!!

As I mentioned yesterday, today's post will have somewhat of a Halloween theme to it. Every Halloween I look forward to hearing this song being played on the radio, or else it just doesn't quite feel like Halloween! This week's song is "Thriller" by Michael Jackson. This of course is not only one of MJ's best and most popular songs, but it also is one of the best music videos of all time. I can't believe this song came out almost 30 years ago and people are still choreographing dances to it!! Actually it's so great that I guess I can believe it. It also has had almost 80 million hits on YouTube (which I thought was a lot until I scrolled down the sidebar and saw that Eminem ft. Rihanna has over 176 million)! Crazy! So click on the link below and enjoy!!

Well folks I may not have too many comments on my posts lately, but at least I am still gaining followers! Thanks to Debbie who became my 500th follower today!!!! Can't believe I have only had this blog going for less than four months and I already have 500 followers! Thanks everyone!!

YouTube Tuesday!

Well since Halloween is this weekend, I figured I would keep with that theme for today's and tomorrow's posts. That being said, this weeks video is a trailer of a movie that just scares the crap outta me. That movie would be Child's Play! The original one of course. This is the creepiest, ugliest doll ever before he turns evil. Then add the knife to him and Chucky just scares the crap outta me! The first one was by far the scariest, in my opinion once Chucky got married and had a baby it just got stupid. While looking for a clip on YouTube, I did find out that they are remaking the original Child's Play. I am pretty sure I won't be seeing that! Enjoy and let me know what movies scare you the most!!

My 5 Monday!

So before I announce this week's topic, let me admit one thing: I am a fast food junkie! I try not to eat it more than once a week, but sometimes I get the craving and just can't help it. Yes I am aware it is bad for me. Eating bad is probably the worst habit I have though. I don't smoke, I rarely drink, and I have never done any illegal drugs in my life. Therefore, if the occassional cheeseburger is what I crave, I don't see the problem with that :). If I ever eat so much that I can qualify to be on the "Biggest Loser",trust me I will stop cold turkey. However, my Wii fit still tells me that I qualify as "normal" when it comes to BMI, so I don't have to worry just yet. Now that all of that has been said, my topic for this week is:
"My 5 Favorite Fast Food Items"

1. McDonalds Fountain Coke
Have to Get the Diet Cokes! Pictures, Images and Photos
Let me state one thing right now. I am a Pepsi person. I rarely buy Coke, unless it is a great sale and even then I mostly just buy Cherry Coke. However, McDonalds somehow has the BEST fountain Coke! I don't know what makes theirs so much different than all the others that sell fountain Coke, but trust me it is. I go through periods where I will crave that every day and stop at Mickey D's just for an ice cold Coke. The fact that they are still only $1 is also a huge plus!
2. Qdoba
qdoba Pictures, Images and Photos
Okay well I can't narrow this place down to just one item. I LOVE everything I have ever had here. Everything is so fresh and "real" tasting. They also don't skimp on the toppings like Taco Bell does. They may cost more than Taco Bell, but it is very much worth it! I can barely eat at Taco Bell anymore since I started eating Qdoba.
3. Cookie Jar Blizzard from Dairy Queen
Dairy Queen Mini Blizzard Pictures, Images and Photos
Well I don't even want to know how many calories I am eating when I order one of these. I do get a small though! Whoever thought of this concotion is a genius! Oreo cookie pieces, cookie dough, fudge swirl, and twist ice cream! LOVE IT!!!! Order this almost everytime I stop at DQ!
4. McDonald's Chicken McNuggets
McDonald's Chicken McNuggets Pictures, Images and Photos
Back in the day when I was a kid and used to get the chicken mcnugget happy meals, I used to break them open to see which ones were actually white meat and which ones were the other weird ones with the random parts. Well a few years ago, McDonalds got a clue and started making all of their mcnuggets with just white meat. Now there is no need to look inside them before sticking them in your mouth. Every one is equally delicious!
5. McDonalds Filet O'Fish (tie)
Filet-o-fish Friday! Pictures, Images and Photos
McDonald's has the best fish sandwiches in my opinion. I don't know if its the steamed bun or the cheese, but no other fast food joints fish sandwichs can even come close in my opinion. If I am feeling really bad, I go ahead and spend the extra 30 cents for extra tarter sauce.
5.Subway Club (tie)
Subway Club Sandwich Pictures, Images and Photos
Okay yes I know I cheated this week by having six, but I just remembered the Subway Club after typing up the filet o'fish. I used to work at Subway and would eat there every single time I worked and never got sick of it. My favorite sub to eat would have to be the Subway Club though. Ham, turkey, roast beef, provolone cheese, light mayo, mustard, tomato and pickle! Can't beat it. The fact that it is the newest $5 footlong makes me uber happy too!!!

Well there ya have it! Some of my guiltiest pleasures! What are some of your favorite fast food selections? Oh yea and don't forget to enter the giveaway!!! Just scroll down and you will find a link to it in the entry below!

Weekly Song Wednesday!

Well this week's song is a little bit different than what I normally would choose. It is "Forget You" by Cee Lo Green. Now of course I chose the clean version for my family friendly blog here. Replace the word "forget" with the other word that starts with "f" and thats what the song really is. Everytime I hear this song it just sticks in my head because it is so catchy. I LOVE it! Let me know what you all think!

YouTube Tuesday!!

Back again with YouTube Tuesday! We got a twofer this week! A few weeks ago, I mentioned in my "Sick of Them Saturday" how I was sick of the Old Spice Guy suddenly being everywhere. Well a week or so ago I saw a commerical where little Grover from Sesame Street is making a parody of the Old Spice commercial and it just cracked me up. The fact that my 8 month old nephew is in love with Sesame Street so I have been watching it much more recently than I have in the last 20 years, also helped me like this video. Below you will find the original Old Spice commerical and also the little parody from Grover. Enjoy!!

My 5 Monday!!

My 5 Monday is back!!!! YAY!!! So I am having trouble thinking of topics for this little segment I have so feel free to post any ideas you may have for me in a comment below!! If you do, make sure you bounce back to yesterdays posting for the CSN giveaway and get yourself another entry! So as some of you may know from previous postings, I am sorta addicted to Friends. Actually, I am really addicted to it. If they had a support group, I would be a member. I have the entire series and have watched all the eppys numerous times. I wasn't a big fan of seasons 1&2, but 3-10 I LOVE!! Up until recently, I would watch at least 2 episodes everynight while getting ready for the day or getting ready to go to bed. The "Deadliest Catch" series has replaced that in the last few months, but until season 6 comes out for that, I am all caught up so its probably going to be time for Friends once again! I have tried to think of my favorite episodes of that show and can't narrow it down to less than 20 most likely. I think I have multiple favorites from every season. It is just way too hard to choose. So for this week's "My 5 Monday", the topic is:
"My 5 Favorite Friends Moments"

1. The one with Ross' couch
This obviously was actually the blopper, but all the videos I was finding on YouTube had their code embedding disabled. I thought this was even funnier though. Seriously everytime I watch this part I crack up laughing. The way he says "PIVOT" over and over again just cracks me up. I also love when he tries to return it to the store and it is in two pieces!

2. The one with Ross' tan
Okay well this is just hilarious. This eppy actually freaked me out so much I still haven't been able to try spray tanning. Love the way he counts so slow and then says "I'M AN 8". I honestly don't know why he even bothered counting and didn't just turn around when it stopped spraying, but that obviously wouldn't be as funny.

3. The one with the game
I loved everything about this little game of theirs. When they watch the coin fall to the table without calling it, the excitement while they are playing, the funny questions, and the fact that the question they lost to was what Chandler's job was since that was a long standing joke through the series.

4. The one where Ross plays the bagpipes
Once again a blooper, but apparently YouTube is pretty protective of their Friends clips. Hilarious yet again though! Ross sure had some of the funniest moments on the show. He was so smart and yet did some of the stupidest things. Like the one with the couch, I laugh everytime I watch this part, especially listening to Phoebe just shriek along with him.

5. The final episode
Well this episode was hilarious and sad all in one hour. Loved when the babies were born and they found out there were two of them, loved the sign Joey made and then the one that Mike made for the babies that was so much more elaborate, loved that they had the baby chick and baby duck that ended up in the foosball table causing them to have to break the table to get them out, and my favorite part is the scene above when Rachel gets off the plane and everything ends happily ever after!!!

So obviously those are just five of my favorite moments. I also loved all the Thanksgiving eppys, Rachel and Ross' Vegas wedding, Chandler and Monica's proposal, the one with all the resolutions, Chandler and Monica's wedding, the birth of the triplets, the one where no one is ready, the Halloween party episode where Chandler is dressed up like a bunny, and so many more. If they ever come out with a Friends movie, I will be there to see it the first night it's out!
What are some of your favorite moments from Friends? Anyone else (besides Becca and Jess) obsessed with the show like me? Make sure to post suggestions in your comments for next's weeks topic and then go get yourself another entry into the giveaway!!!
