Weekly Song Wednesday- Some Nights

So let me start off with a little explanation here. Usually for "Weekly Song Wednesday" I like to feature a song that is new or not very mainstream. However this week I am breaking the rules...sort of. The song this week is "Some Nights" by Fun. Yes it is overplayed and has been out for months, but I still love it. The version I am featuring this week isn't a version I've heard before either. Its by Tyler Ward (whom I have featured multiple times...love him!!) and Alex G. A nice slow, acoustic version of the song, completely different from the original. I absolutely love it! Give it a listen and let me know what you think!!!

Weekly Song Wednesday!!

This week's song is "Payphone" by Maroon 5 ft. Wiz Khalifa. I have been hearing this song a lot on the radio lately and am LOVING it!! I then watched the live performance on "The Voice" (I am a couple weeks behind ;)) and absolutley loved that too. Adam Levine is just too darn hot. Be sure to watch the performance from The Voice below and after that be sure to check out one of my YouTube faves Tyler Ward performing it! Both are fantastic!!

First off, let me just say I'm not sure if I like this new Blogger layout. Its really going to take me a while to get used to it I think! Anyhow, this week's song is by one of my favorite American Idol winners, Kris Allen. I had heard it online once before, but seeing him perform it on Idol last week was great. Such an amazing song with a great message!! This week's song pick is "Vision of Love" by Kris Allen. How can this song NOT make you feel good?!!? Oh and let me just say I am THRILLED it has an actual music video to go with it!! Hopefully it gets some airplay on the radio too. Enjoy!!!

I actually first heard this week's featured song in a commercial, and I LOVED it. This week's song is "Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson. I really liked her previous song "Mr. Know It All" too, so I'm glad to see she is still pretty successful after being the very first American Idol all those years ago. Kudos Kelly!!

Weekly Song Wednesday!!!

I actually discovered this week's song after hearing it in McDonalds and using the SoundHound App on my phone to find out what it was. Oh and let me just say, that is a great app. If you don't have it I highly recommend it. It allows you to find out the name of the song, artist, and even lyrics just by hearing a few seconds of the song. I hate when I hear a song and don't have a clue what it is. Love this app!!! Oh and its free so check it out! Anyways this week's pick is "Car Crash" by Matt Nathanson.Turns out this song is from around 2007, but  I'm pretty sure I only heard this song recently and I fell in love with it!! It's the return of "Weekly Song Wednesday"!!!! Aren't you all so excited?!? Well this week's songs is actually a few months old, but since I haven't done one of these in a while, I don't care :). This week's song is "It Will Rain" by Bruno Mars. I basically love anything Bruno Mars puts out and this is no exception. Give it a listen!!

Weekly Song Wednesday!!!

I really need to keep this "Weekly Song Wednesday" a regular thing! There are so many great songs out there, I don't know why I'm slacking so much on this! So this week's song isn't BRAND new, but it's not widely played so it's new to most people. I was in Kohl's the other night and heard this song come on and fell in love with it. So right when I got home I had to google the lyrics and find out what it was. I was completely surprised to find out the song was by Idol alum Jason Castro! Then when I thought I rememered hearing it once before and realized it is the song he sung on "The Bachelor Wedding of Jason and Molly". So give it a listen and let me know what you all think! Weekly Song Wednesday!!

I'm loving another song, so I had to bring back "Weekly Song Wednesdays" this week. So I first heard The Script when I heard their song "Breakeven" and I LOVED it. Next came "The Man Who Can't Be Moved", which I also loved and they once again have another hit out "For The First Time", which of course is stuck in my head quite frequently lately. Weekly Song Wednesday!

Well it looks like this week I am bringing back all of my old topics! Now if only I could get back my old traffic, it'd be great :). Well today its back to "Weekly Song Wednesday" and I think I have a pretty good one. Today's pick is "Marry You" by Bruno Mars. I seriously LOVE everything I have heard by Bruno Mars and even though his first two songs are more overplayed than anything else, I still love them. This guy is becoming my new favorite artist. I think he will be around for a long time to come! Enjoy!!

Weekly Song Wednesday!!

Weekly Song Wednesday has returned!!! For this week at least :). After watching the addictive "Deadliest Catch" marathon that Discovery channel so nicely put on this past weekend, I was reminded of such a great song! I had never heard this song or even heard of this band before "Deadliest Catch", but I LOVE it now!! The song is called "All Roads Lead Home" and its by the band Golden State. As I mentioned yesterday, today's post will have somewhat of a Halloween theme to it. Every Halloween I look forward to hearing this song being played on the radio, or else it just doesn't quite feel like Halloween! This week's song is "Thriller" by Michael Jackson. This of course is not only one of MJ's best and most popular songs, but it also is one of the best music videos of all time. I can't believe this song came out almost 30 years ago and people are still choreographing dances to it!! Actually it's so great that I guess I can believe it. It also has had almost 80 million hits on YouTube (which I thought was a lot until I scrolled down the sidebar and saw that Eminem ft. Rihanna has over 176 million)! Weekly Song Wednesday!

Well this week's song is a little bit different than what I normally would choose. It is "Forget You" by Cee Lo Green. Now of course I chose the clean version for my family friendly blog here. Replace the word "forget" with the other word that starts with "f" and thats what the song really is. Everytime I hear this song it just sticks in my head because it is so catchy. I LOVE it! Weekly Song Wednesday!!

I'm gonna be honest and let you all know this week's song is kinda a sad one. I really like it though :). It's called "Hear You Me (May Angels Lead You In)" by Jimmy Eat World. I am pretty sure I heard this song in some TV show or movie and fell in love with it so I had to google it to find out what is was. I first heard it a few years ago, but still love it. I am pretty sure it was never released to radio (I think), so that is probably why I never got sick of it. Hope you all like it too!!

Weekly Song Wednesday!!

First off I have to give a big thanks to Carol for the "Lovely Blog Award". Thank you sooo much!! I am glad you like my blog, especially my "Sick of Them Saturday" posts :). Now onto this week's song. I debated on picking this week's song a couple weeks ago, but thought against it because it is so mainstream and played so often. I generally try to feature songs that aren't being played on the radio every 35 minutes for this feature. However, two or three weeks later I still love this song so I finally decided to give in and pick it. Actually I had my "YouTube Tuesday" pick a few weeks ago of some other people singing this song pretty well, but now its time for the original artists. This weeks song is "Love The Way You Lie" by Eminem and Rihanna. Don't hate me lol!

Weekly Song Wednesday!!

I'm not gonna lie. I had a hard time picking this week's song. Therefore, if it seems like a random choice, it is. This week's song is actually a cover of a very popular song. It is "Hey Jude" sung by this years American Idol Lee Dewyze. I was actually a Lee fan this season and think I have heard him played on the radio a total of one time since winning. I love the raspiness of his voice though and absolutely love his version of this classic song. Enjoy!!

This week's song is "End of The Summer" by Theory of A Deadman. I first started hearing this song a week or two ago at the end of the Tigers games. I only ever heard the chorus then, but I loved it! I listened to the lyrics when I found the YouTube video featured below and fell in love with it even more! With Labor Day this past weekend, I guess it really is the end of the summer. It's time for another "Weekly Song Wednesday". YAY!!!!! This week's song couldn't be more fitting for this week. It is called "September" by Daughtry. I first heard this song a few months ago and LOVED IT! I think now that it really is September we will be hearing it played on the radio a lot more. This week's song is also an older one, but I'm not sure how many of you have actually heard it before. I'm sure you have heard samples of it in Jay-Z's song "Young Forever" though. This week's song is "Forever Young" by Youth Group. I'm pretty sure this is a remake from another artist, but this is the version that I love. I first heard this song a few years ago on "The OC".
