Celebstir.com....newest find!!

I was recently informed of a new website called Celebstir.com, so you know I just had to check it out. Turns out it is a new social networking site that allows you to connect with various celebrities, including singers, reality stars and athletes.

I myself created a profile because even though I may not be a celeb, I am a fan :). After creating a profile I decided to browse the site and see which celebs had profiles. Searcing for people is pretty simple. You can either search by specific name or category or do like I did and just look at the most popular search results. Farrah, Maci, and Catelynn from Teen Mom were all at the top of the list of the most popular searches. I enjoyed the show Teen Mom and Maci and Catelynn and Tyler were my faves so its nice to be able to see what they are up to now that the show is over. There are also many comedians and indie singers on Celebstir that you can interact with. Oh and you also could have the opportunity to have a webcam chat with your favorite celeb, which sounds like a pretty cool experience.

As I mentioned earlier, I myself am just a fan, but this site seems to be a great network for people who are singers, comedians, or performers. Seems to be a great way to get your name out there for people to connect with and also upload videos of your performances. Many celebs have been discovered through various internet sites, so you never know, you could be next!!! Be sure to check out Celebstir.com and let me know if you join so I can become a follower of yours :).

YouTube Tuesday- Remembering 9/11

Well this week I made sure to do a "YouTube Tuesday" since today is 9/11. I found a few really good tributes on YouTube. Some aren't too sad, others are extremely sad, but this is a sad day in history so make sure you have the tissues close!

The first video is a State Farm commercial that aired last year on the 10th anniversary during the 9/11 documentary. Crazy thing is that I bet the kids in the commerical were either very small babies or not even born yet when 9/11/01 happened. Very nice commerical though. Seriously love it!

The second video is one I just came across today. Very moving song which was written by the guy singing as a tribute to 9/11. Very nicely done.

The final video is my FAVORITE patriotic song with video clips from 9/11 and audio of President Bush

NEVER FORGET 9-11-01!!!!!!!!

YouTube Tuesday!! "Call Me Maybe"/"Payphone"

I know its been a long time, but whenever I logged onto YouTube today, this video was at the top of the list and I just HAD to share it! So guess what YouTube Tuesday is back!!! Like I said, this video was the very first thing I saw when I logged on and it is pretty darn great. Its a mashup of the uber popular songs "Call Me Maybe" and "Payphone" performed by three amazing muscians/singers. It has over 3 million views so far so I'm apparently really late to the game, but check it out, I'm sure you will love it! Let me know what you think in the comments!!

"My 5 Monday" Most Memorable TV News Events

Wow it has been almost 2 months since I have updated. That's just crazy!! I am back now though with a brand new "My 5 Monday". This week I will be counting down the TV news events that I remember most clearly. Now let me inform you all that I am 27 so I do not remember many important events such as the JFK or MLK assassination, landing on the moon, or anything that happened before 1995 basically since I was not born or very young still. With that being said, here are My 5:

Most Memorable TV News Events

5. President Obama Inaguration

Ok so let's be honest here, whether you love him or hate him, watching Obama being sworn in as President was definetly a historical moment. Go back 40 or 50 years and nobody ever thought they would see a black man become President of the United States. Clearly this was history in the making and nobody can say otherwise.

4. Princess Diana's Car Accident

I honestly remember coming home from the grocery store on a Saturday night when I was 13 and seeing the news about Princess Diana whenever I turned on the TV. Pretty sure this is the first major news event I can remember seeing on TV and I still remember exactly where I was when I found out.

3. Death (and funeral) of Michael Jackson

I remember being at Kohls and receiving a text message from CNN informing me that Michael Jackson had died. I couldn't believe it. As much controvesry that followed him, he without a doubt was one of the greatest artists of all time. I didn't really care for him too much before he died because of all the controversy, but I still love his music. Oh and seeing his daughter speak at his funeral was just heart breaking!

2. Bin Laden Dead

Once again I found out about this news event via text. As soon as I received it I remember turning the TV on to watch the news unfold live. I clearly remember it being a Sunday night and watching the coverage until about 1 in the morning. I knew I would be tired for work the next morning, but I just couldn't stop watching.

1. September 11, 2001

Well this is clearly the most memorable event to me and most likely everyone that is old enough to remember. I remember watching as the buildings collapsed in my trig class my senior year. Being I was only 17, I still didn't fully understand what was happening. As the day went on though I became much more aware how major this was. I am certain I will never forget 9/11/01. I'm sure the rest of the country won't either.

What are some memorable TV news events for you??

Declutter You T-Shirt Drawer!!

I don't know about all of you, but I have a dresser drawer for tank tops and t-shirts and it just looks way too cluttered. I have a lot of cami style tanks to wear under other shirts and of course a few lazy day t-shirts that are all crammed together in one drawer. I found it to be such a pain to find the right color cami I was looking for that eventually I just started leaving the ones I wore the most out. Well after discovering this simple tip on Pinterest, I no longer have that problem. I pinned a pin from THIS BLOG and decided to use her tip for my own drawer. Let me just say it looks sooo much better! She stores the shirts side by side instead of on top of each other so you can easily see every shirt without having to take out 15 others. Genius and simple!!!

Look! I even have some empty space!!!

Traffic Generating Search Words

Have any of you fellow bloggers ever checked the stats of your blog to see what keywords are generating traffic?? If you haven't you should, it is both interesting and entertaining. I just checked mine for the week and 3 of the top searches are "Justin Verlander shirtless", "Rick Porcello Shirtless", and " Josh Harris shirtless". I should let you know in advance I don't have any pics of these guys without shirts. Sorry for your disappointment. I do have pics of them clothed, but no ab shots here. However, for you people looking for shots of Dane Cook, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Reynolds shirtless, you are in luck. You may find those pics by clicking HERE!!!!. For some added fun, I will add some more pics of gorgeous shirtless guys now.

Adam Levine

YouTube Tuesday- Harvard Baseball Team

I remember seeing this video on a few of my friends Facebook pages, but I never actually watched the entire thing until last night. It is seriously ridiculous, but adorable and amusing at the same time. This is the Harvard baseball team "performing" "Call Me Maybe". How can I not like something that features a group of good-looking HARVARD baseball players having fun. Oh and be sure to take note of the guy on the left side in the back sleeping the entire time. Love it! Apparently almost 11 million other people loved it too because that's how many views it currently has on YouTube. Check it out and let me know what you think!!

Pinterest Projects!!

I have expressed my love for pinterest before, so you all know how obsessed I am with it. I just love finding cute hairstyles, adorable pics, amazing recipes, and especially quick and easy crafts! Recently I found one for a patriotic wreath so I just had to make it to hang on my door for the summer. It turned out so well that I am going to share it with you all. It required a total of three supplies and took about 10 mins to make (3 of which were spent waiting for the glue gun to heat up). So here it is, my simple cute patriotic wreath!

I purchased all of the supplies at Joann's for a great price. Foam wreath cost 2.49 after a 50% off coupon, 9 ft garland (I used 2 to make the wreath) cost me 1.99 each after the 60% off sale, glue gun was only $1.80 after a 40% off coupon and the glue sticks were 2.49.

Next all I did was glue the end of the garland to the wreath and wrap around. At the end of the garland I glued that end down and repeated this process with the second string. Five minutes later, I had my finished project :)

Hanging on my apartment door :). Gonna head to Kohl's tomorrow to see if I can find a cute patriotic doormat to put underneath it :).

I also found this cute idea on Pinterest where you organize little make up and hair items by putting them all in jars and labeling. Simple right? So I picked myself up some cute, cheap glass jars at Home Goods and was able to find a decal chalkboard on clearance at Joann's for $4 or $5.

Next I just cut rectangles out of the chalkboard decal with scrapbooking scissors and applied to the glass jars.

Easy peasy :)

Finally, I saw a great idea that someone did on Pinterest by taking wallpaper and applying it to the back of a bookshelf to make the things on it stand out more. Now I didn't use wallpaper, but I was able to find some cute shelf paper at Joann's once again, on clearance for only 3.97! So I just removed the shelves and applied the paper to the back.

The best part is this bookshelf actually started out as a 5 shelf bookcase, but broke when I moved (it was just a cheap bookcase I picked up at Target for about $30). I didn't really want to throw the entire thing away so I found I was able to just use the top half of the shelf and turned it into a shelf for all my cookbooks and shot glasses that is now in the dining room. The funny thing is I used this shelf paper to decide what colors I was going to decorate my entire dining room in. Picked up the cute vases that are on top (now I just need some flowers to go in them) and a centerpiece dish for the dining room table at Home Goods and the candle holder and placemats at Ikea, and Voila! my dining room is complete!

American Idol Finale

So last night was the finale of American Idol. I'd have to say I was really glad to see it come. For some reason I just wasn't as into Idol as I had been in the past seasons. Maybe I need to take a season or two off like I did with Dancing with the Stars so I can get my obsession for it back. Therefore, now that it is over, I don't feel the obligation to dedicate 3 hours of my week anymore. Now even though I was glad for the end, I was also very happy with the ending. There were a few people I liked this season, but Phillip Phillips had been one of my faves the entire time. The fact that he wore whatever he wanted to, sang however he wanted to, and basically didn't change his style or image regardless of what people told him to do made me like him even more. Oh and the fact that the poor guy had been pretty sick with kidney problems the entire season, makes him even more impressive. Now I had liked pretty much all of Phillip's performances, but I'd have to say last week when he did "Beggin" and "We've Got Tonight" is what made me want him to win. Then when he sang "Home" on Tuesday night I LOVED it. I loved it so much that I am even thinking of downloading it from iTunes and actually paying $1.29 for it :). Jessica's song I didn't care for at all so I was really pulling for Phillip just so I could hear him sing that song again. And after 120 minutes of a bunch of performances and filler, a majority of which I could have done without, we got the best 7 minutes of the show, which you can watch below.

Now I must say I absolutely LOVE when the contestants sing their coronation song and end up crying before they finish it. Seriously. That sounds bad, but it is oh so true. So you can imagine how happy I was when Phillip, the guy who all season acted like he didn't care about anything pretty much, couldn't even come close to finishing his song because he was crying too much. BEST MOMENT OF THE SHOW!!! Congrats to Phillip and I wish him a speedy, healthy recovery from his upcoming kidney surgery and sincerely hope that he actually has a successful career ahead of him. Guy deserves it after being such a trooper the last five months and performing every single week.

Weekly Song Wednesday

First off, let me just say I'm not sure if I like this new Blogger layout. Its really going to take me a while to get used to it I think! Anyhow, this week's song is by one of my favorite American Idol winners, Kris Allen. I had heard it online once before, but seeing him perform it on Idol last week was great. Such an amazing song with a great message!! This week's song pick is "Vision of Love" by Kris Allen. How can this song NOT make you feel good?!!? Oh and let me just say I am THRILLED it has an actual music video to go with it!! Hopefully it gets some airplay on the radio too. Enjoy!!!

Justin Timberlake + interior design?!?!

Well we all know Justin Timberlake can sing, act and host SNL with the best of them, but now he is also apparently launching a line of home goods according to InStyle. JT has teamed up with an interior decorator to create a line of "wallet friendly" home goods. The home goods are available online only through homemint.com, which will officially launch in May. You can become a member of the HomeMint website for $10 a month which would allow you early access to products and discounts, but you dont have to become a member to shop the site :). If you would like to check it out click this link here: http://hmnt.co/WC2. Personally I can't wait to see what he comes up with! Especially since it is supposedly "wallet friendly"!!

Gavin DeGraw- My new obsession :)

So I must admit I am loving Gavin DeGraw right now. Since watching him on Dancing With the Stars this season, he has just become my new obsession :). He seems like such a sweet guy, and I LOVE his music. I actually first heard this song by him when he performed it on the series finale of One Tree Hill and absolutely loved it. Therefore, I figured I would share it with all of you :). The song is called Soldier and its on his new album, Sweeter. Hope you like it as much as I do!!

High School Career Class

High School Career Class

Guest written by our friend Gladys Fuentes

My son is taking a career class in high school. In the class, they have to pick a career out of a hat. The career that they pick comes with an approximate salary that they will make. So then they have to take that salary and plan a budget to live on based on that salary. I think it is a great way to get them thinking about what they want to be when they get out into the world and all the things that they will be responsible for. So all of a sudden, my son who has not really ever thought about what things cost is talking about how much it is to buy a house, what kind of a car you can get for a certain amount of money, and even how much utility rates are that he found through Shop Electricity Rates Texas. And he is starting to try to give me advice on what I should be spending my money on. Even though it is a little annoying to me that he thinks he is an expert now, I am glad that something at his school is starting to make him think about important things that he never thought about before.

One Tree Hill finale :(

Well the title of my blog is "Its All Random", which is why I feel it is completely fine that I post this entry randomly :). Last night was the series finale of one of my fave shows "One Tree Hill". Now if you don't watch this show, you don't know how intense the entire (shortened) season has been. Well let me just say it has been pretty dramatic and action packed. That's why last night's calm, mellow finale was perfectly pleasing to me. Everyone ended up happy, which is just how I wanted it to end. The only thing that I was upset about this season was the removal of the iconic theme song "I Don't Wanna Be" by Gavin DeGraw. They hadn't played it the entire season during the credits. So therefore last night I was hoping they would use it since it was the final episode....but they didn't :(. Then I saw that the show was focused around live music acts and was hoping Gavin DeGraw would be one of the performers. Turns out he was. Not only did he perform two of his new songs, but the show and concert ended with the theme song to the show, with all the cast member singing along. Seriously, when I saw he was on the show I was secretly hoping for that exact ending, which means I was beyond happy when I saw that is exactly how it played out. Perfect ending to a great show if you ask me. Check it out for yourselves below. It has become one of my new favorites on YouTube :).

YouTube Tuesday!!!!

So this week's YouTube Tuesday was inspired by Dancing With the Stars. Are you all watching this season?? I haven't watched the last couple, but there were a few people in the cast this season that I was interested in seeing so I decided to watch. Also thanks to On Demand, I can watch The Voice and DWTS without having to take up space on my DVR :). So back to DWTS, if you aren't watching,  you need to!! Im watching as I type this and it is only week three, but people are already getting 10's!! All the celebs this season are good, I can't believe it! Anyways, Gavin DeGraw was one of the reasons I decided to watch this season. I seriously love everything I hear by this guy. Loved him for years!! Im sure many of you are familiar with his song "I Dont Want to Be", but he also has done amazing covers of some classic songs. The two below are some of my faves! Hope you enjoy!!

Update on2012 Goals- February

Well another month has past in 2012, so let's see how I have been doing on my goals for 2012 so far...

1. Blog more- In January I had 16 posts and in February I only had 6. Guess I slacked off a good deal last month. Need to get back blogging!!

2. Become More Organized- Hmmm this one is still a work in progress. I'm not LESS organized than I was though so I guess that's something. I'm hoping to use March and April to get a good deal of spring cleaning done, so in May I will see how successful I have been with this goal.

3. Shop Less- Eek!!! I did so well there for a while, but then Uncle Sam paid me my tax refund and I went a little...just a little! shop happy. Most of that money is in savings now though so I'm going to try to go back to my orignal plan of only buying one or two things on my wish list each pay period.

4.Try out a new recipe every two weeks- Well the every two weeks part hasn't been true, but I have made three new dishes, the taco casserole that I posted about, chocolate chip cookie dough dip, and chicken cheese roll ups, both of which I found on Pinterest. So we will consider this one partially successful.

5. Start couponing again- I have been using coupons everytime I go to the grocery store so we will call this goal a success so far :)

6. Donate to Charity Monthly- YAY a goal I have been 100% successful with so far!! January was to the World Wildlife Fund and February I donated to the National Wildlife Fund and renewed my membership in the Children's Miracle Network through the local radiothon. I am now once again donating $10 each month for the next year to the local Children's Miracle Network which is located right in my hometown.

Guess I haven't been too unsuccessful so far. Just need to get back to blogging more and shopping less!!!

Mom Told Me

Content by Donny Vinson

My mom told me about some great Satellite Dish Deals in our area and I’ve got more channels now than I know what to do with. I really like TLC a lot because it’s got a lot of shows that I feel like pertain to my age range, stuff about weddings and babies and all that. I just got married last year and I’m pregnant with our first child so I can really relate to some of the young moms I see on TV! I think its great there are so many different kinds of moms out there and being home (I haven’t found work yet since we moved here because I’m so visibly pregnant) gets lonely sometimes so I’m really happy to have these shows to watch. I love that my mom is always looking out for me like that and I’m so appreciative that I can call her on the phone anytime and talk when I’m lonely. I think it’s great that we’re starting our own little family but I still miss mine!

YouTube Tuesday!

My last "YouTube Tuesday" I took a little break from featuring singers and featured the wonderfully hilarious Jim Parson. Well this week I am back to featuring great singers. Some of you may have seen this week's singer on this season of Idol. Unfortunatley he got cut last week :(. After hearing this cover, Im not exactly sure how he got cut, but oh well. Maybe next season Johnny! Oh and he's pretty cute too so thats always an added bonus. This week's video is Johnny Keyser singing "More than Anyone" by Gavin Degraw.

Pinterest...Oh how I love you!!!

I recently discovered the amazing addiction that is Pinterest. I had heard people talking about it and seeing people post about it on Facebook so I thought I'd give it a look. Well that may have been a bad move seeing as how I spend any free Internet time surfing through the site. After FINALLY getting an invite, I was able to start making my boards. Sooo many great recipes, uplifting quotes, adorable pics, helpful household tips, crafts for both kids and adults, cute hairstyles and so much more. I have been lacking in my updates lately so I thought I would share some of my favorite things from Pinterest this week. This will most likely become a common blog topic :). Hope you enjoy. Oh and if you want an invite to Pinterest just let me know and Ill send you one! All I need is your email addy!

Weekly Song Wednesday!!!

I actually first heard this week's featured song in a commercial, and I LOVED it. This week's song is "Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson. I really liked her previous song "Mr. Know It All" too, so I'm glad to see she is still pretty successful after being the very first American Idol all those years ago. Kudos Kelly!!

YouTube Tuesday!

Okay well a few weeks ago, I said that YouTube Tuesday will now basically just feature singers performing covers of various songs. Well that was going to be the case until I discovered this week's video. I have recently developed an obsession with the TV show "The Big Bang Theory". I find it absolutely hilarious. Seriously, I laugh out loud at every episode I watch. Well while searching YouTube for clips, I found that a lot of clips from the actual show have the embedding code disabled. I did however find this video of Jim Parsons (Sheldon) on Ellen and cracked up at it. Then I watched it again and cracked up again. Seriously makes me laugh everytime I see it. Soo here it is, hopefully it makes you laugh too!!

Motivational Monday

My new addiction is Pinterest. I seriously LOVE it. I keep finding so many cute hairstyles, good recipes, and helpful household tips. I also keep finding great quotes. Sooo I decided to bring back my "Motivational Monday" series. I will still have the "My 5 Monday" also, but when I don't have a topic to post about for that I will post some motivating words. Seriously who doesn't need motivation on Monday?!!? Enjoy!!

YouTube Tuesday!!

Have I ever mentioned that I am obsessed with YouTube??? Well Im sure most of you have figured it out if you are a frequent reader of my blog. Seriously I could spend hours on that site!!! Bad Reality TV

The Author of this post is Kory Dotson

I love to watch TV, and I am a huge fan of my direct tv package. I get everything I want for a price I can afford, which is awesome. Who cares if I like bad reality TV? Lately I have become obsessed with the new season of the Real World. I think I like it so much because the cast is so awesomely bad. I remember when I was younger I thought that the casts of The Real World seasons were so cool. A lot has changed in 15 years! Is it me, or have they gone from choosing young people with purpose and ambition, to choosing drunk college dropouts whose only interests are hooking up and looking hot? Whatever the case is, they’re a lot of fun to watch. One of my favorite things is watching them get drunk and fight. Who does that kind of stuff? I admit that I am glad I don’t have my early 20’s on tape, but I don’t think I was anywhere near their level of ineptitude. Hopefully when I have kids they won’t grow up to be like these idiots!

New obsession...Sneakpeeq!!

Well I just discovered a new site that will help me waste time online...Sneakpeeq!!!! For those of you who haven't heard of the site, its a cool little shopping site that features a bit of everything! I recently signed up for it, and discovered some cute jewelry, purses, and Puma clothes and shoes. Oh and did I mention that you can get it for up to 70% off retail price?!!?

I absolutely LOVE this Puma jacket!!! The retail price is $80, but the Sneakpeeq price is only $48!!! Oh and I forgot to mention that just for signing up you get a $10 credit, making the above jacket only $38!!! Love it!!

With sneakpeeq, you click on the products you like and they will show you the retail price. You then click on the "peeq for your price" button and it will tell you what you will end up paying (plus 5.95 shipping). You are allowed 20 "peeqs" per day, and they seem to add different shops quite frequently. It seriously is kind of addicting :).

So, if you are like me and LOVE shopping, I highly recommend checking them out today. All you need to do is click on the banner located towards the top of my blog and it will take you there. I should let you know that in order to become a member you need a Facebook page with the new "timeline" format. If you haven't already changed to timeline, you might as well do it because as of Feb. 2, they will all be automatically changed anyways.

Check it out and let me know what you think!!!

YouTube Tuesday!!

This week's video is from a young girl who I actually first discovered on the HTC commercials a while back. She was singing the song "Wavin' Flag" in the commerical and I thought she was GREAT! After finding out who it was singing in the commercial, I discovered she did a cover of  "Born This Way" that has over 47 MILLION views! Insane!!! She has a great voice though, especially for being as young as she is. This week's pick is Maria Aragon singing "Born this Way". Enjoy!! If you do like the video below, I highly recommend checking out her version of "Wavin' Flag" too!!

Weekly Song Wednesday!!!

I actually discovered this week's song after hearing it in McDonalds and using the SoundHound App on my phone to find out what it was. Oh and let me just say, that is a great app. If you don't have it I highly recommend it. It allows you to find out the name of the song, artist, and even lyrics just by hearing a few seconds of the song. I hate when I hear a song and don't have a clue what it is. Love this app!!! Oh and its free so check it out! Anyways this week's pick is "Car Crash" by Matt Nathanson.Turns out this song is from around 2007, but  I'm pretty sure I only heard this song recently and I fell in love with it!! Give it a listen and let me know what you think!

YouTube Tuesday!!

So I think from now on, "YouTube Tuesday" will mainly be covers of various songs from different singers. You never know, one of the millions of people on YouTube could be the next American Idol, X Factor, Voice, etc. winner. Then you can remember seeing them on "Its All Random" first. Highly unlikely, but you never know right :). So this week's video is a song I LOVE, "Colder Weather" by Zac Brown Band. The featured artist of the week is Mitch Rossell. Enjoy!!!

My 5 Monday

Well I almost didn't do a "My 5 Monday" for this week, but while watching the Golden Globes, I was able to think of a topic. This weeks "My 5 Monday" is "Movies I Really Need/Want to Watch". Now before I go any further, don't worry, most of these movies are not "Golden Globe" worthy (apparently). While watching these awards, I decided that the Hollywood Foreign Press and I have completely different opinions on what movies are "good" . With the exception of a very few, I have no desire to see many of the nominated films. Actually, I generally never agree with the Oscar or Golden Globe best picture nominees. For some reason they are obsessed with movies that take place hundreds of years ago. Not exactly my cup of tea! Before I get started with my list, let me just say this weekend I watched this movie

friends with Benefits Pictures, Images and Photos
and absolutely loved it. I actually preferred this one over "No Strings Attached" which is the same plot, but I guess I prefer JT to Ashton. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. Now on to this weeks list:

1. Bridesmaids
bridesmaids Pictures, Images and Photos
Uber popular movie of the summer and I hear its actually LOL hilarious. Really need to see this one soon. I actually don't own this one yet, so looks like I will need to Redbox it.

2. Water for Elephants

My friends seem to think this is the best movie ever, so I guess I will have to finally watch it. Didn't seem to appealing to me when I first saw the previews, but I have heard nothing but good things about it. Also, I picked it up on Black Friday for a great price, so I might as well actually watch it right?

3. 50/50
50/50 Pictures, Images and Photos
This movie actually is nominated for a Golden Globe, so maybe I won't like it after all. Seems pretty good though and the fact that its in the COMEDY category leads me to believe he doesn't die in the end. I have a feeling I am wrong about that theory though.

4. Remember Me
I bought this movie shortly after it came out on DVD and was so excited to watch it. Somehow I still haven't watched it though. I recently heard my co-workers talking about this one though and they were saying good things so thats a plus. I think this will be the next movie I actually sit down to watch.

5. Country Strong
Country Strong Pictures, Images and Photos
Picked this movie up on Black Friday also. Got a good deal on this one too, so at least if I don't end up liking it, I'm not out too much money.

Have you seen any of the movies mentioned above??? Are there any that aren't at all worth watching?? Let me know!!!
