My New Celeb Crush/ Obsession :)

So last summer I did a "My 5 Monday" featuring my celeb crushes, which you can find HERE. Had I known about the man I am about to mention, you can bet he would've been very close to the top of that list. That man would be CHRIS POWELL. Now many of you may not know who this is. Chris is the trainer that is featured on the new ABC show "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition". Now I love "The Biggest Loser" (and the new trainer on there Brett is pretty good looking too), so I decided I would give this show a try. I am sooo glad I did. Not only is it an inspiring show, but most of the time when I watch it I can't even focus on the person being featured if Chris is on screen. Here are just a few reasons why he is absolutely GORGEOUS:

kylerheaslip:

I just watched Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition and I’ve decided that I need Chris Powell as my trainer. He was so motivating and extremely cute! The girl lost 161 pounds in one year! Incredible!

I  need him too! I’m so happy for that girl! such inspiration

He has the most mesmerizing blue eyes. They look extremely blue during his confessionals on the show. Oh and he seems to have a beautiful smile too with those perfect white teeth!

Umm HELLO do I even need to explain this!!!!

Oh and I am currently watching the show as I type this and he is pretty mad. However, even when he is pissed off he is still fricking gorgeous!!!

Anyone else watch this show (if only for Chris!)?? Anybody else want him as their own personal trainer?? Oh and he apparently lives with the people he is training on the show for the first three months!!! Where do I sign up for that?!?!

HAPPY MONDAY ALL!!!!

Top Reality TV Moments of 2010

It's that time of year folks. The end of the year is approaching faster than I imagined and that means time for a recap of 2010 in various areas. For the next few entries, I will be posting my favorites of 2010 in numerous categories. This entry will focus on "Reality TV Moments". Now we all know there are a bazillion reality TV shows out there these days and of course nobody can watch them all. Therefore this list just features MY favorite moments for the reality shows I actually do watch. So, in no particular order, here we go:

Lee Dewyze Wins American Idol
Well lets face it folks, this season of Idol was not the best by any means. Simon judged his last season, Ellen became the funny, yet very questionable, new judge, and the talent wasn't very talented. However, Lee Dewyze was one of my favs from the beginning and his reaction when waiting for Ryan to announce the winner and then when he found out he won was just great. You could tell he didn't think he would win at all and the fact that he looked like he was going to throw up on the stage and then pass out was just priceless. It is very sad that he has had no promotion whatsoever for his album and I have yet to even hear his single on the radio. I honestly don't hold out much hope for this season of Idol, but I guess we will see!

Phil Harris dies on Deadliest Catch

If you are a reader of my blog, than you know about my recent addiction to Deadliest Catch. In my opinion, one of the best reality shows around and this season was also one of the saddest. Fan favorite Captain Phil Harris suffered a massive stroke during this season's fishing season and later died. Apparently Phil requested that they continue filming while in the hospital and thus, we all go to see the heartbreaking reactions of his sons and fellow captains when he died. Hands down, the saddest moment of reality TV I have ever seen.

Ali chooses Roberto on The Bachelorette

I recently began watching "The Bachelor/ Bachelorette" series and have to admit it is one of my guilty pleasures. On this season's Bachelorette, Ali was the lucky girl to get to choose her Prince Charming. I did have a problem with her being the Bachelorette since she CHOSE to leave the show when she was on Jake's season of the Bachelor, but it could have been much worse so I learned to live with it :). After numerous rose ceremonies elimination some crazy, some cute guys, Ali finally chose adorable Roberto. I absolutely loved him from the beginning and had a very strong feeling that she would end up picking him in the end. I was very happy to learn I was right. Oh, on a side note, all the clips of the actual proposal were copyrighted, which is why I had to insert the above clip instead. We did get to see how sickeningly cute they are together though.

Jackie Evancho Amazes on America's Got Talent

Jackie was featured on the YouTube episode of AGT and basically stole the show from there. The 10 year old had both the looks and the voice of an angel. While opera is not my favorite genre of music, this little girl has an amazing voice and talent. I was actually happy that Michael Grimm won the show, but she has a future ahead of her for sure!

Some of my other top moments of 2010 from reality tv include:
Jake picking and then a few months later breaking up with Vienna (I never could stand that girl!)
The finale episodes of both the spring and fall seasons of "Biggest Loser". I am always amazed at how great everyone looks!
Kate Gosselin FINALLY (although way too late) getting voted off of "Dancing with the Stars".

Sorry for the lack of videos for the above moments, but YouTube didn't have any :(

What were some of your favorite moments from Reality TV 2010??

My 5 Monday!!!

Happy Monday all! Can you believe it is already October? I sure can't! Well now that the fall season has started, that means all kinds of new shows and returning shows. Which also means I'm not killing the time by watching random reality shows. Have you seen how many reality shows are out there? I am pretty sure there is one about everything these days. I think I am going to find someone to follow and make a show about them and then sell it to some network. Seriously, they have one about EVERYTHING!! Now I haven't watched most of them because I honestly don't think I could handle them. That being said though, I did think "Deadliest Catch" seemed like something I would never watch in a million years and now I am obessed with it, so I won't knock the shows too bad until I've at least tried to watch them. Of course I am assuming that "Deadliest Catch" also led to "Whale Wars", "Lobsterman" and "Swords" being made since they are all pretty similar. All of the above are at least about people who have dangerous jobs, so of course that helps with the drama and entertainment factor. Some professions I am actually amazed they make shows about though. That being said, this week's topic is:

"My 5 WTF?! Reality Shows"

1. Groomer Has It

Groomer Has It Pictures, Images and Photos

Okay I have never watched an eppy of this show, nor do I ever care to. Apparently the premise though is twelve dog groomers live together and compete to find out who the best groomer in the country is. The winner then gets $50,000 and a "mobile grooming salon". Sounds exciting doesn't it? Turns out this show only lasted two seasons. Although I would have never thought a show about dog groomers would be made at all so kudos to them for lasting that long!

2. Pawn Stars

Pawn-Stars Pictures, Images and Photos

I found this one one day when I was browsing through the on demand selections. Turns out I actually know people that watch this one. This show is about the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas. Apparently it is described by TV Guide as a mixture of Antiques Roadshow, Cops, and LA Ink. If that's not a variety I don't know what is. Must be a pretty interesting pawn shop though, because I can't picture any of the local ones around me being the center of an entire TV show. This show has had three seasons so far. Take that "Groomer Has It"!

3. Billy the Exterminator

Billy Pictures, Images and Photos

Billy Bretherton is the owner of a pest control located in Louisiana. I have actually seen bits and pieces of this show when one of my patients have been watching it. This one actually does look like it might be intriguing. Also, Billy apparently tries to relocate the captured pests first, which I guess is a lot easier to watch than if her were killing them all. I might actually have to give this one a try. If I ever see one about bugs though, I will be turning the channel right away!

4. American Pickers

American Pickers Pictures, Images and Photos

This show, like "Pawn Stars", also airs on The History Channel. I guess since they are dealing with old stuff, it qualifies as "history". "Pickers" follows around two friends as they travel around the country, basically garbage picking. Just like "Pawn Stars" I would have never expected to have a show made about this "occupation". To each his own though, and if they can turn trash into treasure, more power to them!

5. Mall Cops

mall cops Pictures, Images and Photos

I think this show rates right up there with "Groomer Has It" for the WTF award. Mall Cops follows the daily happenings of the security guards (or mall cops) at Mall of America. I guess they were inspired by "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" when they made this show. Who would have thought!? Now I have never been to Mall of America, but I understand that it is a pretty big mall. Apparently there is also enough action and excitement happening there to fill an entire TV show. I think I may go there one day soon just to people watch and see if anything happens that makes it on the show. Ya never know!!

Well there ya have it. The five shows that made me say to myself "WTF?!?" when I saw their titles and descriptions. Have any of you watched any of these shows? What shows make you think to yourself "WTF?!"?

Ramblings!!

Sooo I first off have to thank all of my AMAZING followers! I hit lucky #100 last night and that number keeps rising! Thank you all so much for following and for all the lovely comments. I love it! I started this blog about three and a half weeks ago and can't believe I am already at 100 followers. Thank you!!!! I am having so much fun doing this, I am so addicted to it now!

Next, time to discuss "The Bachelorette" season finale!!! If any of you haven't watched yet, stop reading now! Spoilers ahead!!

the bachelorette Pictures, Images and Photos

So I have to say, I think this is the first season of this show or "The Bachelor" where I have actually liked both remaining people equally. I thought Ali and Roberto had great chemistry since the very first meeting and called him as one of her finalists way back then. Chris L. grew on me though and he seems like such a sweetheart!! I want him to be the next Bachelor!! He seems so sweet and genuine and he's not at all bad to look at either! What more could you ask for?!?!? After she broke it off with him and they showed the rainbow, was just amazing. On a side note, how perfect does Bora Bora look! Absolutely perfect! I'm not gonna lie, with the way this show has been going lately, I was really worried that Roberto was going to end up not proposing. So happy he did though. Even though I wasn't too keen on Ali originally, I really hope her and Roberto actually make it down the aisle and have some beautiful babies! So happy with this season finale!!! Well it is now time for me to watch "After The Rose" and you can guarantee I will be watching "Bachelor Pad" next week. I really just want to see cutie Jesse again! If he and Tenley end up getting together I will be so happy! I doubt that will happen though, but we will see!

"My 5" Mondays!

YAY! The second week of "My 5" Mondays. I am loving this little segment. In a few weeks I will run out of ideas for this segment, so feel free to brainstorm with me! This week's "My 5" is reality shows. Since I have already stated in my "about me" section my addiction with reality shows, I figured this would be a good place to share some of my favs!

"My 5 Favorite Reality Shows"

1. American Idol
Well I am obsessed with this show. No matter how hard I try, I can't help but get so involved in it every season. This past season I wasn't too crazy about for the longest time, but in the end I was so incredibly happy watching Lee Dewyze snag the title of "American Idol". I don't think this show will be the same whatsoever without Simon next season, but hopefully the talent will still be good! Be sure to catch my weekly recaps beginning in January!

2. Deadliest Catch
Harris Legacy Pictures, Images and Photos
Well this show has DEFINITELY become my new obsession. I L-O-V-E it!! I posted an entire entry about my obsession with this show previously. Like I said in that entry, I only started watching this show because I caught an eppy at 3 am on a Saturday. I have seen the entire season of the most recent season that just ended last week. Capt. Phil (pictured above middle with his two sons) died this season so that made it soo hard to watch. The show did an incredible job of airing his time in the hospital, which he requested be done. I am getting caught up on previous seasons thanks to NetFlix and can't wait to see what happens with Capt. Phil's boat and sons next season! I highly recommend this show to everyone. You won't be disappointed!

3. The Biggest Loser
The Biggest Loser Pictures, Images and Photos
Like the previous two shows, I am also addicted to this show. (All of my top 3 shows air on Tuesday nights which really makes it difficult!) This show completely amazes me. I always watch the entire season and am astonished by the weight loss of all the contestants. Most contestants lose AT LEAST 40% of their original weight, the top 3 "losers" generally lose more than half of their original body weight. It is all done the right way too. Eating right and exercise. Granted they are exercising about 8 hours a day, but still. No surgeries, no pills, just hard work and eating healthy. I love Bob and would soo choose him as my trainer if I were these people. Jillian just scares me. I am so into this show that I have bought 4 of the exercise DVDS, the cookbook, exercise ball, Wii game, and scale. I am pretty sure I say the words "oh my gosh" during the season at least 50 times.

4. Real World/ Real World Road Rules Challenges
Real World Road Rules Challenge Pictures, Images and Photos

The Real World was one of the first reality shows I ever watched. It was also one of the first reality shows ever taped. The premise is the same for every season: take seven (or eight) strangers of different backgrounds, genders, sexual preference, and religion and stick them all in an amazing house, with the staple hot tub of course. I haven't actually seen the last couple seasons of The Real World because it is of course on the same night as everything else I watch. I generally am always able to catch the spin off of The Real World, which is The Real World/ Road Rules Challenges. This is even more drama filled than The Real World because we have about twenty or so people living in one house, forming alliances, drinking way too much, and hooking up with fellow cast mates throughout the season. It's like a car accident, no matter how hard you try to look away, you can't help but watch.

5. The Bachelor/ The Bachelorettegraphics Pictures, Images and Photos
Well as much as I hate to admit it, I can't help but watch this show. I will never quite understand it though. How is it that every bachelor or bachelorette is good looking and has a decent job and yet they can't find a significant other. Seriously? I also generally never agree with who they end up picking as their fiance in the end, yet still I can't not watch. I would like this show a little bit more if people actually had a relationship that lasted more than a year though, Trista and Ryan being the exception of course!

So there you have it. My 5 reality show addictions. I'd have to say the most real of these is of course "Deadliest Catch" with "American Idol" and "Biggest Loser" in a second place tie. I'm not gonna believe that "The Bachelor/ Bachelorette" isn't staged at least a little bit seeing as how someone always ends up being there "for the wrong reasons". Still love them all though and never miss an eppy of any of them. What are your favorite reality shows? Does anyone else think that "Deadliest Catch" is the most real show on TV these days?

The Bachelorette....U-G-H!

My addiction for reality TV leads me to watch "The Bachelorette" on Monday nights. Fellow watchers of this ill fated reality love series, know that Chris Harrison is the host and basically the only task he has each week is to talk to the Bachelor or Bachelorette towards the end of the show about each of the remaining contestants and then come out at the end of the rose ceremony and remind the contestants and America that "this is the final rose of the night". As if we can't see that ourselves. As if each and every contestant left without a rose isn't staring at that thing thinking "Thanks Chris, I clearly only see one rose left, but I thought there was one hidden behind his or her back before you shared that hidden piece of knowledge." I am sure he gets paid an amazing amount of money to say these eight words so good for him, I'd say them too. The last few seasons good old Chris has played a bigger part in the show since there seems to be at least one contestant that chooses to leave the show for work or an ex or some other reason. This just leads him to ask more obvious questions though apparently. Tonight Frank decides to leave the show so he can rekindle a relationship with his ex-girlfriend. He of course goes to tell Chris this which then leads Chris to ask the question "How do you think Ali is going to take it" or something along those lines. Seriously Chris? Do you need to ask that question? Do you expect him to say "I think she is going to take it great. Even though I am one of the final 3 guys, I don't think she likes me all that much". Seriously Chris!!!!!

Now onto my next annoyance with tonight's show. For all of you who DIDN'T watch "The Bachelor" last season, Ali was one of the remaining four girls. She CHOSE to leave the show and Jake so she could go back to her job. She told Jake that if she didn't return to work at that moment, she would lose her job. This left Jake devastated (and he ended up with that skank Vienna). Apparently she decided that she didn't like her job all that much after all because she ended up quitting her job and becoming the next bachelorette. I think that is completely unfair by the way. Ali had her chance with Jake and she chose not to take it. She didn't have her heart broken like the other girls. That's why I have had a problem with Ali all this season. Well fast forward however many months its been since she left Jake, and Ali is now in Tahiti with the final three guys. As previously mentioned, Frank decides he is going to leave the show so he can reunite with his ex. So when it finally comes time for his date with Ali, he tells her right when they see each other, in a serious manner, that he needs to tell her something. I'm pretty sure it was the exact same way that she said it to Jake a couple months ago. She seems completely thrown off by his seriousness and says she is worried. Well Ali, I'm pretty sure you should be. Don't you remember when you said those words....I'm pretty sure Jake was worried too wasn't he? After Frank tells her his decision she goes off on him and tells him how he is sooo selfish and "how could you do that to me". Ummm pot, its kettle calling to tell you that "YOU'RE BLACK". I seriously think that Ali completely forgot how she even ended up on this show. U-G-H...UGH!!

I live alone so I seriously will yell at my TV when things happen on it that annoy me. That's why I am so glad that I started this blog so I can vent my frustrations for everyone to read lol. I never had any intention of blogging about "The Bachelorette" tonight. I never expected it to annoy me as much as it did though. Well needless to say, since Frank left, there was no rose ceremony tonight. This means that either hottie Roberto or cutie Chris will most likely be proposing to Ali in two weeks. I like both of these guys a lot so I hope that whichever one ends up with Ali will actually have a lasting relationship with her. I don't have high hopes though considering the track record for this show. I do feel bad for Chris that he didn't get to tell us that "this is the final rose of the night" though.

It's shows like this that make me even more appreciative of the real "reality" of "Deadliest Catch"...which I will most definitely be watching tomorrow night :).

So readers, what do you think? Are any of you fellow "Bachelorette" watchers?? Do you think it was crap that Ali got to be the next bachelorette after choosing to leave the show last season?

Deadliest Catch...My New Obsession!

As I stated in my "about me" section, I am addicted to reality TV. Of course I still love my sitcoms and dramas, but for some reason watching "real" people live their lives entertains me. I love the competition ones such as American Idol and Dancing with the Stars, but I find the ones that hook me in are the ones that just follow a certain group of people around. Of course with some reality shows you can tell they are "scripted" i.e. The Hills, but others are 100% real. Obviously the editors of these shows can basically make a person look like a sweetheart or look like the total villian and they do a good job doing that. I remember watching a "Real World" reunion special and one of the people were asked if they thought they were represented correctly on TV and they replied that everything that was shown on the show obviously actually happened. However, the producers and editors can of course make it seem like it happened in a totally different way, but none the less, it happened. I would have to say though that one of the most real reality shows would have to be "Deadliest Catch".

I remember one day my co-worker was talking about watching "Deadliest Catch" with her hubby the night before. I had never heard of this show so I asked what it was and she said it was about crab fishing and it was on the Discovery Channel. She said it was soo good. Well right off the bat I thought that had to be the most boring show ever. Seriously, she was entertained by watching a bunch of guys fishing for crab?? Well turns out she was right. This show is so addictive and hooks you in within a couple episodes. The first time I ever watched this show was when it came on at 3 am on a Saturday on Fox. I figured that of course this show would help my insomnia and cause me to fall asleep, but I was completely wrong. Next thing I know its 4 am and I'm really wanting to know what happens next, but of course I have to wait until the following week. After that inital eppy I would watch them on Saturday nights if I was still awake that late and began to learn who everyone was. My favorite crew from the beginning was the crew of the Cornelia Marie with Phil Harris as Captain. I'm not gonna lie, I leaned towards this crew initailly because Phil's two sons were deckhands and I thought they were pretty good looking. Well as some of you may know from the news, Phil Harris died unexpectedly this past February. I wondered how the show was going to handle it. Turns out they handled it very nicely. The season began back in April and of course Phil was alive and well when they first began shooting so we got to see a good 10 or 12 eppys with Phil doing what he does best. For the last few weeks though, they have been focusing on Phil's illness, recovery and now tonight his death. Phil wanted the cameras to keep rolling even though he was sick, so thats exactly what they did. By doing this, the world was able to see raw, intimate interactions with Phil and his sons right after his stroke. ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING!!! This is the by far the most real reality tv I have ever seen. If you have never watched the show, I strongly recommend it. I guarantee you, you will not be disappointed. Luckily, as with all cable channels, they rerun the eppys multiple times throughout the week so you can get caught up.

Below are a few clips from the show. The first one is of Phil's son Jake confessing that he is addicted to painkillers after his dad caught him stealing his pills. Phil really goes off on Jake and says some harsh things, but luckily the two were able to make up before Phil died.

Next is Phil's son Josh flying out to be with Phil and Jake and the other captain's telling their crews. This clip made me fall in love with this song!

The next clip is of Phil's son Josh and his friend and captain of another boat on the show, Johnathan on Jay Leno. It features a clip of Josh with his dad in the hospital shortly before he died. At this point, the doctor's were very optimistic that Phil was going to get better and they were actually about to send him to a rehab hospital in Seattle. So sad! Ultimately, Phil ended up dying of a pulmonary embolism caused from smoking so much.

Well now that you all have read about my new OBSESSION with this show, I highly recommend you checking it out. You will not be disappointed!!
