My 5 Monday!!

This week I am going to continue with some of my favorite things from when I was a child. This week's theme will be:

"My 5 Favorite TV Shows When I Was a Child"

1. Home Improvement

I was pretty obsessed with this show when I was younger for one reason: Jonathan Taylor Thomas, or as I used to call him JTT. I thought he was the cutest thing ever. Actually Zachary Ty Bryan was pretty cute too so there was two reasons for me to love this show. I am pretty sure I never missed an eppy though and I recently started buying the DVDs. I obviously am not still obessed with "JTT", but I still love the show. Actually, I love it even more now that I understand the jokes. Oh yea I did always like that the show took place in Michigan too and they would always wear Michigan team clothing. Still love that!

2. Boy Meets World

Well if TGIF wasn't the best thing on TV when I was growing up, I don't know what was. This show happened to be in the TGIF lineup for its entire duration I do believe. Is there anyone that grew up in the 90's that didn't love this show? Every character had something great about them; Cory and Topanga's relationship, Shawn's angst, Eric's dumbness, Mr. Feeny and the parents trying to keep them in line. Oh and then they graduated and went to college and hottie Matthew Lawrence joined the show for the rest of the series. Whats not to love?!

3. Full House

Well this has to be the cheesiest show from the 90's. I still loved it though. I find it funny that even as a kid I thought it was cheesy. I thought there was no way that sisters could get along as well as the three of them did. It's funny to see all the cast members now though. Bob Sagat is apparently a very raunchy comedian, John Stamos is still acting and still as hot as he was twenty years ago on this show, and of course the Olsen twins are all grown up and, for the most part, staying out of trouble. Not hurting for cash at all either. It amazes me that this show is still on in syndication and a whole new generation is watching it and loving it!

4. Rescue 911

Okay did anyone else ever watch this show? I seriously was only about 7 years old and I LOVED it! I actually wish it were still on because I would totally be watching it. This show actually taught me a little about what to do in an emergency too. Let's see I remember watching a little boy sit down on an esculator and then his jacket got sucked into the belt which in turn led him to get sucked in. That taught me never to sit down on one of those. I also remember an eppy where a little girl grabbed a knife from her kitchen so her babysitter could open something up and she ended up stabbing her little brother right in the stomach with a butcher knife. GREAT show! Oh and I remember William Shatner from this show and nothing else lol.

5. Saved By The Bell

Okay who didn't watch this show growing up? I am pretty sure everyone did! What amazes me is that this show was a Saturday morning show and I don't think it has ever gone out of syndication. If you want to watch it now, you just have to turn on TBS in the mornings and voila, there it is! Just like Home Improvement, I am pretty sure I have seen every eppy at least five times and I will still watch it if I see it on. I honestly don't see this show ever going off TV, even though the cast members are all close to 40 now. One of the best high school shows ever!! Although I'm not going to lie, I was kinda disappointed when I went to high school and there were no nerds with pocket protectors running from the jocks. Actually I am disappointed there was no Zack or Slater either!!

Well there you have it. My 5 favorite shows when I was a kiddie. Just a little disclaimer by the way, I didn't include Friends in this list because I didn't fall in love with that show until I was in high school. That is no doubt one of my all time favorite shows though! What were some of your favs as a kid? Did anyone else watch Rescue 911???

Product Review...Bissell PowerGroom Pet Compact

Well I didn't have a post prepared for today and I wasn't too happy about that so I decided I would do a product review. I went to Walmart yesterday and bought the best vacuum I have ever used. It is the Bissell PowerGroom Pet Compact.
Let me give you a little reasoning why I am in love with this product so much. When I first moved into my apartment I went crazy shopping. I bought everything that I would ever need (I am pretty sure I have some things that I haven't even used yet and I've lived here for 4 years). While I bought a lot of stuff, I didn't want to spend a lot of money, being the frugal person that I am. So I bought myself a standard $50 Bissell vacuum from Walmart. Don't get me wrong, the vacuum works decent, only problem is I have two cats who feel the need to shed like crazy. The standard Bissell I had just wasn't up for the task. I knew I would need a pet hair vacuum, I just didnt want to shell out the $150-$500 they wanted for them. Last Christmas I got the handheld Bissell pet hair remover for furniture and it worked AMAZING! So I finally gave in and decided that maybe shelling out the big bucks was worth it if it actually worked. Well I went to Walmart this past weekend and found the Bissell PowerGroom Pet Compact. This is basically just a smaller version of the Pet Hair Eraser that they make and the best part is that it is very affordable. The price on the box said 78.88 but when I scanned it, it came up for $69.00!

So I get it home and tear open the box. First thing I notice is the size. It is smaller than my old one, so I will have to empty the canister more often, but not a big deal at all. It was extremely easy to assemble. All I had to do was screw the handle on and put all the attachments in their places. Took all of about 5 minutes. It also is very light so if you have stairs it won't be a pain to drag up or down. Another feature I love is that it came with an attachment that you can use on the furniture that basically does just a good of job as the handheld vac that I have. So now that my vacuum is assembled it was time to use it. I vacuumed my living room and hallway where the litter box is and was AMAZED at how much it picked up. LOOK:
That is just from vacuuming ONE time. I can't believe how much my old vacuum was missing! This vaccum has a little lint roller on the bottom that sticks to the hair when you pull it back and then when you push forward it releases the hair and lets it get sucked up. Now I can sit on my floor and not have half of a cat on me when I stand up! I HIGHLY recommend this product. Great price, works AMAZING (as you can see), and it is small enough to store without taking up much space. (Bissell is NOT paying me to review this product by the way). If you are looking for a pet vacuum, but don't have a lot of money to spend on one, this is the product you need. I got mine at Walmart and haven't actually seen them in any other stores, but you could always check online too!

On a side note, I also attempted to organize the top shelf of my coat closet too. I live in an apartment so I don't have a ton of storage space so basically eveything that I don't have a place for ends up in the coat closet.
BEFORE

AFTER

Still WAY too much stuff, but at least now everything is somewhat organized and I won't knock 25 things down when I try to get a lightbulb!

Sick of Them Saturday!!

Wow, here we are at another Saturday and I am only sick of one person. Celebs and/or the media must be behaving themselves lately. All celebs except for one that is. This week's lone featured person is:

PARIS HILTON!!!!
paris hilton Pictures, Images and Photos
Now I am pretty sure not one of you is surprised by this pick. A lot of you even commented that she would be featured this week. Congrats everyone you are certainly right. So last Saturday, Paris Hilton was riding in a car with someone who happened to get pulled over for suspicion of driving under the influence. The cops then happened to find cocaine in Paris's purse. Well after the arrest, her boyfriend (who was driving the car) got fired from his job at Wynn Resort and Casino and Paris got herself banned from Wynn and Encore. The good news for Paris is someone is coming to her defense by saying "she doesn't have time for drugs". Sadly that person is her hair dresser. Apparently Paris is using the old "the purse wasn't mine excuse". Too bad for her though, the cops apparently aren't buying that for one minute. Looks like Paris is going to be visiting the slammer again sometime in the near future. I'm sure she will also be making an appearance in this weekly feature the next couple of weeks!

Well thats all folks. Just one person this week. I can hardly believe it myself! Who are all of you sick of this week??

Weekly Song Wednesday!

It's time for another "Weekly Song Wednesday". YAY!!!!! This week's song couldn't be more fitting for this week. It is called "September" by Daughtry. I first heard this song a few months ago and LOVED IT! I think now that it really is September we will be hearing it played on the radio a lot more. That being said, I had to feature it before it got overplayed and we all started to hate it. Give it a listen and let me know what you think!!!
